It is the Alternate Program's commitment to work with students to build a safe, creative and caring environment, and to promote self-esteem through hard work and personal responsibility such that their formal education will lead to satisfaction and productivity both academically and in the world of work

First Place is one of four Alternative Program Secondary Sites situated in the Ottawa-Carleton Region which are located in former OCDSB elementary schools.

The Alternate Program has three key components.

• The Cooperative Education Program
• The Academic Program
